Precision Polymer Engineering (PPE) is continuing to play a critical part in the fight against Covid-19 through the supply of reliable, high performance sealing solutions for life science applications.
Bausch+Ströbel, based in Ilshofen, Germany, are key manufacturers of pharmaceutical filling lines. Their production efforts are currently focused on supporting the urgent need for pharmaceutical packaging from vaccine developers, including Pfizer.
Failure of any component in this pharmaceutical filling equipment would result in significant delays to Covid-19 vaccine production. So when Bausch+Ströbel needed a specialist solution for O-rings and custom seal profiles to be built into the sealing systems of their technology, only materials with unrivalled operational reliability could be considered.
PPE offered the ideal material grades to meet the Bausch+Ströbel specification – in this case, E70Q, S71U and S80U. The grades offered the required level of thermal and chemical resistance, mechanical strength and both FDA and USP Class VI certifications.
PPE’s material expertise and on-time delivery has helped Bausch+Ströbel enjoy a flawless operational record with their pharmaceutical packaging lines. This has ensured a steady, uninterrupted supply of Covid-19 vaccine to frontline healthcare professionals across the world.
The efforts of our teams in the UK and US, in the support of critical life science applications, continues to have a big part to play in the fight against Covid-19. We’d like to extend our thanks to these teams once again for their hard work and dedication in incredibly challenging times, which will ensure we beat Covid-19 faster.
