International training course schedule announced

by Donna Maskell | Feb 04, 2013

Precision Polymer Engineering (PPE), one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high performance moulded elastomer seals has just announced its training programme for 2013. This follows a successful global programme of training courses and workshops held during 2012.

As a designer and manufacturer of elastomer O-rings and other components, PPE has a team of specialist materials scientists and applications engineers focused on developing effective sealing solutions for demanding applications. This team has a built up wide range of expertise in materials development and selection and seal design. Each year the team works with many customers to create effective, reliable sealing solutions even in very challenging conditions such as high temperature and aggressive chemical environments.

The accumulated expertise of the PPE team has been used to develop and deliver a range of training workshops on seal technology and design. These training workshops will be of interest to all design, maintenance and applications engineers faced with the need to understand and create reliable sealing solutions for their critical equipment and systems. PPE offers 5 different courses, focused at 3 levels and includes industry-specific courses;

  • An Introduction to elastomer materials and how O-rings work.
  • Elastomer technology and seal design for the oil & gas industry
  • Elastomer technology and seal design for the semiconductor industry
  • Elastomer technology and seal design for the diesel/aero engine industry
  • Advanced elastomer technology and seal design for critical applications

The courses last from ½ day to 2 days and are held in locations around the world including various countries in Europe, USA and Asia.

Over the last 5 years in excess of 500 engineers have attended PPE training courses and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. The benefits of this training include building up knowledge and expertise in seal and groove design and an appreciation of elastomer material properties and selection.
