Silicone Rubber (VMQ)

These types, unusually for synthetic rubber, are partly organic and partly inorganic. They have an excellent temperature profile and resistance to many fluid types, althought this is partly offset by slightly lower physical strength than some other elastomers.

Many users specify particular colours to identify their silicone parts and this explains the unusually large number of different colour-coded compounds in the current PPE listing.
