PPE offers a number of high performance elastomer materials for use in down-hole packer applications. Excellent chemical compatibility, high temperature resistance, high pressure capability and good physical properties (such as modulus and high elongation at break) are required to allow the packer to deform sufficiently and accommodate expansion, whilst preventing high pressure extrusion.

PPE can utilise endless pre-forms, porous tooling and high force presses to prevent voids within the elastomer that can otherwise be seen when manufacturing large cross section elastomers.
